Macarena Larrea Basterra

Bio

Researcher at Orkestra, she holds a PhD in Business Fostering and Development from the University of the Basque Country; she wrote her thesis on the “Internalization of the External Costs of Electricity Production”. She has participated in projects related to energy, industrial and climate policies, energy transition processes, environmental taxes and green financing, critical raw materials, sustainable mobility (sea transport and ports) with local, national and international partners.

  Researcher at the Energy and Environmental Lab. Her research is focused on energy, industrial and environmental policies (at the EU level, national, and local levels), energy prices, and energy transitions. She is the author of several reports, papers and book chapters for Spanish and other international institutions. She has participated in international projects financed by the EU Commission and the InterAmerican Development Bank. She participates in seminars related to her research fields.
