Martje Köppen is a Dean's Scholar at the Faculty of Law reading for her PhD in Law at the Oxford Sustainable Law Programme. She researches the (contested) role of law in the 'Net Zero' transition. Her research interests cover the legislation and regulation of Greenhouse Gas Removal (GGR) and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) in the EU and the decarbonisation of the energy and industry sector's hard to abate process emissions and the role. She advises on the German Negative Emissions Strategy.
